Every Knee Devotion & 30 Day Link Up Day 4

EVERY KNEE My dad has often said, “There’ll be no atheist in hell.” People often pause and you can see they are confused by this statement. Afterall, for a Christian knows anyone who does not believe in God the Creator will be judged to hell. Dad’s point is quite valid I assure you though.  Isaiah 45:23 NKJV “I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath.” Romans 14:11 “For it is written: “As I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” Philippians 2:9-11 9 “Therefore God also…

    Little Man Big Emotions

Emotional Intensity in the Gifted Child I have been struggling this week and last as the teacher of a child with emotional intensity and asynchronous tendencies. Last spring I really began to research gifted and talented tendencies in children. First, let me say that I believe all children have unique gifts and talents. This identification is in my opinion a misnomer. That being said, they are the terms used by educators, psychologists, pediatricians and scientist used to describe people who have a higher IQ than the average person. Beloved and I have not yet chosen to have our son’s IQ tested. Even among the experts there are very mixed opinions…

This Week… Getting in the Groove

Our family pictures were made available to us this week. I thought I would share one here. A special thank you to Tara from Tara O’Neal Photography for a great shoot. This is the first school week where I feel like we successfully completed a full week of work. It’s just been difficult this fall to get into the regular routine. Our routine: 4 days of school work in the classroom, Monday through Thursday. Friday is for gym and alternate Friday’s include our support group Making Memories Homeschool Support Group. Sometimes we will do grocery shopping or chores after but no structured school unless we are really behind.Bible:  We reached the 9th…

This Week… Family Photo’s and Family Time

This was a good week in our little school room. I haven’t yet felt like I could say that this year. Not sure I can say we have hit our groove, but I’m starting to feel that we are beginning to make progress.  Bible: We continued our study of the Israelites in Egypt. Moses and Aaron have gone to Pharoah and asked for the right to go worship God. God has begun to perform signs and wonders amongst the Egyptians.  Little Man Hard at Work, Notice He doesn’t sit up straight? History: We moved forward a bit in history. Joshua and Jericho. We just stepped up to this lesson and…

His Eye is on the Sparrow

This year Little Man is studying the Zoology of Flying Creatures. We have placed a bird feeder outside our classroom window so that he can get a chance to watch some of God’s beautiful Aviaries up close. It took several days before little flitting creatures were attracted to the feeder, but over the past couple of days we’ve seen a few little sparrows show up for a meal.Today, as he was working on his science lesson about endangered and extinct animals we saw a little sparrow perch on the edge of the feeder and begin eating. He quickly got a piece of paper and started sketching. He is quite excited…
