    Walk in the Spirit

In our Sunday evening worship our minister, Anthony, has been doing a study of the Spirit and how he works in our lives. We have mostly been studying from the book of Colossians. For the past few days this verse has been coming to my heart. I believe it goes along well with the study I have engaged in on sanctification. I’m sure we will come across this portion of sanctification in a future study, but it has so been on my heart that I decided to share it here. Galatians 5:24-26 NKJV24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let…

This Week… Studies and Socializing & 30 Days to Give Thanks Day 17

This Week…Oh I am so tired after all the planning for this weeks Thanksgiving festivities at our homeschool group. Bible:  Progressing forward in Exodus, Jonathan began to walk with the Israelites out of Egypt. He read how the Lord led them by a pillar of cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night. We talked about how He still leads us today through the study of the Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  He read how that rather leading them the shortest route to the land of Canaan, He diverted them toward the Desert of Sin, or the Sinai Peninsula because if they went through…

Devotions: Worship & 30 Days Link Up

This is an older post, but I am renewing it here. It goes along with the study I am currently doing on Santification wtih the Digging Deep in God’s Word group. Last year we were studying the shadows of reflection between the Old Testament and the New Testament. Currently this month we are looking at the priesthood, the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. I remembered this article and wanted to share it again. Worship  I’ve recently been thinking a lot on this subject, Worship. I’ve been reading through the book of Exodus with a group of women on facebook. We are seeking to dig deep into the meat…

Every Knee Devotion & 30 Day Link Up Day 4

EVERY KNEE My dad has often said, “There’ll be no atheist in hell.” People often pause and you can see they are confused by this statement. Afterall, for a Christian knows anyone who does not believe in God the Creator will be judged to hell. Dad’s point is quite valid I assure you though.  Isaiah 45:23 NKJV “I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath.” Romans 14:11 “For it is written: “As I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” Philippians 2:9-11 9 “Therefore God also…

    Little Man Big Emotions

Emotional Intensity in the Gifted Child I have been struggling this week and last as the teacher of a child with emotional intensity and asynchronous tendencies. Last spring I really began to research gifted and talented tendencies in children. First, let me say that I believe all children have unique gifts and talents. This identification is in my opinion a misnomer. That being said, they are the terms used by educators, psychologists, pediatricians and scientist used to describe people who have a higher IQ than the average person. Beloved and I have not yet chosen to have our son’s IQ tested. Even among the experts there are very mixed opinions…

This Week… Getting in the Groove

Our family pictures were made available to us this week. I thought I would share one here. A special thank you to Tara from Tara O’Neal Photography for a great shoot. This is the first school week where I feel like we successfully completed a full week of work. It’s just been difficult this fall to get into the regular routine. Our routine: 4 days of school work in the classroom, Monday through Thursday. Friday is for gym and alternate Friday’s include our support group Making Memories Homeschool Support Group. Sometimes we will do grocery shopping or chores after but no structured school unless we are really behind.Bible:  We reached the 9th…
