Which is why I wanted to pull together a list of old fashioned games that you probably forgot about.

Of course one of the all time favorite classics is Monopoly. But it’s not one that most people forget about so I didn’t include it in the following list.

My very favorite classic board game is The Stock Market game. Are you familiar with it? It is one of those games that is challenging and that’s why I love it. However, it’s out of print and while you can find it, it’s not something that is budget friendly so I’m going to keep it out of the list as well.

  1. Aggravation
  2. Battleship
  3. Chinese Checkers
  4. Clue
  5. Parcheesi
  6. Risk
  7. Sequence
  8. Simon
  9. Stratego
  10. The Game of Life

What are your favorite classic games? Please share your family game night memories in comments. I’d love to hear how you spend time as a family.

  1. My kids are still pretty young, so we like the classics Sorry and Hi Ho Cherry-O! 🙂 I think we might be ready for a game of Chinese Checkers though, as soon as the little one stops putting marbles in her mouth! Thanks for the ideas!

    1. Oh Hi Ho Cherry-o has always been a favorite of mine, Candyland, and Chutes & Ladders too! I’ve got a pre-teen so I fouces on older kids, but still there are some great games for younger kids too.
