Family Meal Planning

A Table of Peace

There is no greater bonding place than around the dinner table. When it’s family meal time and members set down to eat together a peace that exceeds understanding can settled down to the table with them. When a family consistently eats together bonds are formed as meals are shared and life is discussed.

But as busy homeschooling moms it can be time-consuming and sometimes downright frustrating to keep up with getting meals on the table in a timely manner. And when we, moms, are feeling rushed and kids are hungry sometimes the last thing at the table is peace.

Because meal planning is part of a homemaker’s keeping responsibilities it most often falls to us, wives & moms, to bring the meal time planning together. It happens every day, several times a day. The entire family needs sustenance and as keepers of the home it falls to the wives and moms that we are, to ensure that meals are prepped, cooked and ready to eat in a timely manner. And, as the softer side in the family, it’s often we who bring about peaceful discussions as well.

I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.” Psalm 37:25

Full pantries become empty quickly if we fail to provide. This doesn’t mean that we, moms, have to do all of he work. In fact, it’s good if others help out in the kitchen. Families bond in kitchens.

That is why I’m bringing Meal Planning to the Great Peace line up of topics. I want to share how I prepare for meal planning. For me, ensuring that the fridge, pantry and freezer are well supplied, ready for any meal that needs to be prepared is my best method for meal planning. Over the years I’ve developed other ideas as well, and I’ll be sharing them with you.
