Grocery Store Math

Had to run to the grocery store today. I needed some locally produced Snowville Creamery Milk, some bread and a few other things.
By the way, here is just a little plug for my favorite product on the market, and no I am not receiving any form of payment for such an endorsement. I simply love Snowville Creamery  Milk. It is as close to raw milk as I can get legally without buying a cow. It is organically produced from grass grazed cows. It is non-homogonized and only pasteurized to 170 degrees.
Do you see that white stuff clinging to the inside of the glass? That’s pure fresh cream! You don’t get that with homogenized milk. This stuff is delicious!
Ok, that’s all of my rant on my favorite product.

This is how he added in his own differentiated learning.
He was so excited to learn the differences in capacity
that he drew these on the board, I did not assign this.

Little man started a math unit this week on customary capacity measurements. He has been working on converting from one form to another. For instance 5  cups is the same as 2 1/2 pints. So I used our little trip to the store to reinforce the capacity of cups, pints, quarts and gallons. I love homeschooling on the fly.
