New Goals for the New Year

Saying goodbye to 2012 was easy for me. While I am truly thankful that God blessed me and my family with another year of life, last year was a difficult one for my family as well as for some of our closest friends and I am hoping and praying that God will lead us into a better one in 2013.

My prayers include:

  • My family living in His will on a daily basis and that we will trust His will for our lives above our own desires.
  • If it be His will that He will lead my husband into a job that is the right one for our family, to provide for us and that will lift Him up and glorify Him in what my husbands talents are.
  • That I as a wife, mother and homeschool mom will be able to put first things first in the roles and talents that God has blessed me with and glorify Him in those roles, in a better way than I have in the past.
  • That I will seek to glorify Him in my role within the body of Christ.
  • That my family and I will become more immersed in The Word.
  • That my friends will be able to create a forever family through His tender mercies.
  • That my dear sweet young friend will be able to enter into marriage with joy for her and her soon to be husband and that they will in all ways seek to honor God in their life.
  • That my parents will continue to have improved health, well-being and the ability to continue telling others about God’s love.
  • That those in my family who are outside the household of faith, will look within their hearts, find that they need God, His Mercy and Grace through Christ Jesus and that forgiveness of sins is far better than living in sin.
  • That my life will be a reflection of Christ Jesus and that in some way God will use my life to lead others to Him.

Some goals that I am setting for the year.

  • He made Me His Helper Goals
  1. Assist my Beloved in whatever he needs me to. (Vague I know, it’s more about mindset than specifics.)
  2. Continue with monthly date nights, add in weekly set aside time to focus on marriage, set aside daily time to just talk.
  3. Be willing to go where he leads.
  • Keeping Goals:
  1. Set up and maintain a regular cleaning schedule for my household. Learn how to utilize the binder that I made in a better way. (I realize this is more of a mindset than anything else)
  2. Menu planning and prep on a monthly and weekly basis and STICKING WITH IT.
  3. Organizing and using my couponing system.
  • Teaching Goals:
  1. Preparing my lesson plans at least 1 week in advance, and making changes as needed first thing Monday morning.
  2. Research educational goals and begin setting them for Little Man beyond yearly and weekly goals.
  3. Be stricter with class time, not letting outside influences interfere with the importance of school, while maintaining a small amount of flexibility as we have opportunity to do good unto others.
  4. Find ways to teach Little Man to be more of a servant to others.
  5. Work on WRITING
  6. Help Little Man to find more coping skills for his need for perfection, and help him to realize that he is not perfect. (This is going to be so much easier said than done)
  7. Stop thinking that I can do it all myself and realize that God places in my life those who have abilities that I do not and reach out to them for assistance in areas that I am not able.
  • Spiritual Goals
  1. Begin keeping a prayer list and using it when approaching the Father. My prayers for others have increased and I fear I forget far too much. Pray continually.
  2. Continue on with the The Colley House/Digging Deep Study/Sanctified 2012-2013study for women, from Cindy Colley at The Colley House.
  3. Help Little Man and myself begin to Write the Word. He has begun this on his own, now I am going to purpose to give him the tools necessary to make this a part of his weekly routine and something that he can keep for future reference. Since I find it to be a good idea for him, I feel it is also a good idea for me so we will both be Writing the Word.
  4. Read in the word Daily.
  5. Be more kindly affectionate to those in my life.
  6. Seek to add in the reading of a devotional book on a regular basis.
  7. Purpose to encourage others more:

           through correspondence
           through hospitality
           through outreach

  • Blogging Goals:
  1. Add a regular devotional thought.
  2. Remember to focus on homeschool posts more.
  3. Encourage others in the work of homeschool.
  4. Prioritize Life over Blog.

I hope that you have a Happy New Year. Let me know what goals you are setting for the year.
