Beautiful Tears

Tonight my heart mourns for my dear sweet friend. Her mother passed away very unexpectedly this evening. We rushed to the hospital to be with the family thinking there may be hours to wait but it was only minutes. I watched something take place during those moments that took me quite by surprise. My friends 9 year old granddaughter went to my 8 year old son, he said “I’m sorry your grandma is sick.” She replied, “she isn’t just sick she is dying.” He asked a question and I explained. Then he hugged her ands said “I’m sorry.” Both of these children are educated in their homes.  A little while later her grandmother passed away, this little girl shed many tears. I held her and let her cry. then she wanted to tell her friend, my son, what had happened. we walked down the hall to a quiet spot. She told him what had happened. He told her again “i’m sorry.” by this point she was crying again, so he hugged her and as they stood there hugging and supporting each other, i thought (how beautiful) we share in the joys of our friends and we share in their sorrow. I am so thankful to see that my little guy already is beginning to understand that. I love my friend I am praying for her and her family, I cry for their loss but also see the beauty of the love that is surrounding them as this sweet wonderful Ms. Jane is now in the hands of God, how beautiful heaven must be!
