Devotions: Worship & 30 Days Link Up
This is an older post, but I am renewing it here. It goes along with the study I am currently doing on Santification wtih the Digging Deep in God’s Word group. Last year we were studying the shadows of reflection between the Old Testament and the New Testament. Currently this month we are looking at the priesthood, the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. I remembered this article and wanted to share it again.
Worship
I’ve recently been thinking a lot on this subject, Worship. I’ve been reading through the book of Exodus with a group of women on facebook. We are seeking to dig deep into the meat of God’s Word. Our goal for this month is to seek out shadows of the New Covenant in the book of Exodus. We want to see how the Old Covenant is a reflection of the New.
For instance, in the Old Covenant God designated a very specific priesthood, from the tribe of Levi. Aaron and his sons were set apart to be the priests of God Most High and serve Him in the tabernacle and later the temple. See More…

30 Days to Give Thanks: Day 14
Today I am thankful for Jesus Christ. Truthfully I am thankful for Jesus Christ every single day that the Father has blessed me with breath. I choose today to acknowledge that here. I am thankful for it is by and through him that I have been created. I am thankful that it is by and through him that I have salvation. I am thankful that through his willingness to be tortured and murdered for my sins that I have the hope of eternal life. It is hard to imagine the physical suffering he endured because he loves me so. I am grateful, yet there are no words that exist to truly speak the gratitude that I feel.
Philippians 2:2,9
“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,”
Most gracious Father it is with immense humility that I approach your throne to say thank you to your Holy Son Jesus for the loving sacrifice he made when he laid down his life upon the cross without even opening his mouth to speak his own defense, but rather lovingly did so to take my punishment. May your Spirit speak to you my heart, for no human words can express the sorrow this brings when I consider what he did. I thank you Lord Jesus. In your blessed name I pray.
