Praising and Cursing???

Tonight’s I was perusing facebook news feeds. I saw a post where someone posted a ‘sign’ which said something to like this… “If you love the devil keep scrolling, I love Jesus, Like and Share if you love God.”
I’m sure the person sharing this thought they were honestly and sincerely sharing their love for God. Sadly, these type of posts are usually a form of spam and the sharer doesn’t realize it. I almost always just scroll past these and forget about em. Because anyone who knows me knows I love God, and I don’t have to share someone else’s post, I simply live in Him.
This particular post however caught by eye, not because of what it said, but rather by the name of the originator of the post. It was a misspelled curse word, connected with the word angel. Satan is so sneaky isn’t he. In the guise of something that supposedly touts love for God, there is right there connected to the same post a curse word.
Immediately my mind went to a passage found in the book of James. In this passage James is teaching about the tongue. He says that the tongue is hard to tame and filled with deadly poison. He goes on to say that with our tongues we bless God and curse men. He says that man is made in the image of God and from our one mouth we bless and curse. Then he goes on to say “these things ought not to be.”

It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. ⁹ With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. ¹⁰ Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. ¹¹ Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? ¹² Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.
