I love Autumn! It’s my favorite time of the year. I love the crisp cool air. I love the smell of fall. I love the beauty of blazing colors on the trees. This year in particular they seem to be bright, vibrant and deep in their color palette. I’m blessed to live in a state where we see the full spectrum of the seasons. I’ve lived in other states farther south and west that do not quite have fall, at least not the way we do here.

We had a field trip today, I’ll post pictures for that in a post later in the week. Then on the way home we stopped by Mr. Sam’s place. He is a member of the congregation where we worship and every fall he open’s a pumpkin patch to sell pumpkins, gourds, corn, hay, etc. The sun was shining and it was just a beautiful little adventure for Little Man. So I decided to post some photo’s of our Fall Day.

A few days ago I picked up some delicious local Honey Crisp Apples from the grocery store. That’s the other thing about where we live, we have an amazing variety of apples. I was so inspired by the beauty of the day that I came home and started to make applesauce for canning. While I was at it, I did up some tomatoes that I got from the church garden. If I’m lucky a few pints of freshly grown, freshly canned applesauce and tomato sauce will be sitting in my cupboard before the evening is up.
