Four Chicken Dinner Money Saving Tips

With the price of meat being what it is these days I thought I’d share some of my favorite money saving tips for buying chicken.

  1. Buying a whole chicken is usually cheaper than buying parts. Once you get it home, you can section the chicken yourself and stick into the freezer.
  2. Speaking of whole chicken, you can find a better price buying a cooked rotisserie chicken from the deli section of the grocery than you can buying a whole chicken in the meat department.
  3. Buy chicken legs in bulk, then separate into enough portions for your family. Then place those portions into a freezer bag and freeze.
  4. The meat on chicken thighs has more flavor than chicken breasts and is usually more affordable. You can often buy boneless chicken thighs at the grocery store.
