Five Minute Friday: Welcome Home

It’s 5 Minute Friday. I join up with Lisa-Jo at Tales from a Gypsy Mama for a Link Up. It’s like a flash mob for bloggers. I loved the creative writing in high school when Mrs. Senator encouraged us to free write. To just put thought on paper without worrying about the form and function of grammar. Don’t get me wrong… I love to go back and edit to get it right, but there is freedom in writing at will. Lisa Jo provides us that opportunity. She gives us a topic, we spend just 5 minutes writing on the subject without much editing or worry about getting it right.

Five Minute Friday

Today’s Topic: Welcome

Go.

Ah its funny how often the topic fits my day and what I’m thinking. Today a dear dear lady from our congregation passed from this world into Abrahams’ Bosom. In the book of Luke Jesus tells us about a story of a man named Lazarus who died and lifted his eyes being in Abrahams’ Bosom. I imagine Father Abraham extending a very big, WELCOME, to all of those found worthy to lift up their eyes there.

It’s a welcome I hope to experience when I pass over. I can’t truly imagine what it will be like. Will I look around and find the souls of those I have loved and who have loved me? Will I look around and recognize the apostles of Jesus? Will I be surrounded by Christians singing constant praise to the Father?

I’m thankful for those who have laid down foundations in my life which have led me to Christ. I’m thankful for Jesus and His sacrifice which allows me salvation through obedience to His Word. I look forward to the day when He will say “Well Done, they good and faithful servant, enter in to the joy of the Lord.” Welcome Home, Indeed!

Stop.
