Foolish Arguments in Marriage
Marriage Moment: Lessons Learned from Foolish Arguments In the midst of a recent argument with my Beloved, I kept thinking to myself, this is the dumbest argument we’ve ever had. I knew it in my heart, and yet, we continued to escalate until we were screaming at each other. I also knew that he certainly was not thinking the argument was of any value. However, we simply could not seem to stop. Such foolish arguments in marriage are common. There we were standing in our bedroom arguing about light bulbs. He had recently replaced the bulbs in our overhead light. On my side of the argument, the light was extremely white,…

5 Homemaking Tips for Homeschool Moms
There are some things that I’ve learned over the course of our homeschooling years. I have learned how to maintain my home so that I’m not overwhelmed. Let me just say, that homemaking through the homeschooling years is quite different from other stages of my life. I’m not one of those, every last surface in my house must be spotless, kind of homemakers. We live here. More than that, we school here and my son and I are here nearly 24/7. So clutter, happens. That being said, I do prefer having a home that is clean and fairly straightened. During my working years I had a specific routine for getting…

We’re in This Together
Marriage ebbs and flows with time. Changes happen and couples must determine how they will change as well. For us, the newest change is my husband has accepted a new job. It’s been 2 years since we learned of his unemployment. 2 Years without full-time employment. 2 Years of my Beloved working any freelance job he could secure so that he could provide for his family. Hearing of job loss can be a fearful thing. We made a decision early on that we would not live in the fearful place. We chose to live in faith and trust the Father. Do you know what? He was faithful to us in return. During what…

6 Reasons Why Church Camp is Great for Homeschoolers
Young Man and I are at church camp this week. This will be our 4th annual year attending. Each year I’ve watched my son becoming more independent while there. He looks forward to this week all year long. This past week, leading up to us coming here, he was even praying for Mr. Gampp our camp director to be able to lead us well at camp and that we would have a safe week. That shows both how much he loves camp, but that he’s learned to think of the needs of others, not just the fun he has. 5 Reasons Why Homeschoolers Should Go To Church CampI wanted to take…

It’s Church Camp Week
Fun Filled Week at Church Camp This week Young Man and I are spending the week at church camp. It is a week filled with Bible class, worship, devotionals, fun activities, zip lines, rope climbs, hikes, capture the flag, and many fun-filled days filled with laughter. I serve as a Bible class teacher for the 7-9 year olds. This will be Young Man’s first year going to a different Bible class, and his first year to stay in a boy cabin without his dad. Beloved isn’t able to go this year. So it’s just me and the boy and all the other staff and campers. I’m sharing pictures of last…

Celebrate the 4th of July
The 4th of July is perhaps my favorite holiday. I think there is always an excitement about it. The parades, the summer time cookouts with friends, the gathering of families, the waving flags, the songs and the fireworks all bring joy to my heart. But for me, it’s not just about the hoopla, it’s about a celebration of freedom. Freedom that allows for me to worship God without fear of harm. Freedom that allows me to educate my child at home. Freedom that allows me to train him in the nurture of the Lord, without the interference of others. We live in a nation that is FREE. But that freedom…
