Chalking
Creating Beautiful Bible Class Visuals with Artist Chalks Since chalking is one of my favorite things to do, I am sharing affiliate links below to items that you would need if you decide you too want to start chalking. What is Chalking? Sketched and Outlined You start with an image. Any image. You then, take that image and enlarge it. I do this by using a projector. You can either do that the old fashioned way, where you copy the image onto transparency film and then use the old style projector, or you can use a power point type projector. You project the image onto matte poster board, then trace the…

Praising and Cursing???
Tonight’s I was perusing facebook news feeds. I saw a post where someone posted a ‘sign’ which said something to like this… “If you love the devil keep scrolling, I love Jesus, Like and Share if you love God.” I’m sure the person sharing this thought they were honestly and sincerely sharing their love for God. Sadly, these type of posts are usually a form of spam and the sharer doesn’t realize it. I almost always just scroll past these and forget about em. Because anyone who knows me knows I love God, and I don’t have to share someone else’s post, I simply live in Him. This particular post…

Just 5 minutes of free writing. http://lisajobaker.com Todays Topic — Risk Go. I’m sure risk is something that some people find exciting, fun and worth the percieved reward. I on the other hand find risk to lead to struggles. I much prefer to walk simply and follow the rules. But the topic is Risk, so I’m going to tell you about the biggest risk I’m willing to take. I’m willing to step outside the nirm of society and educate my son at home. Perhaps that doesn’t…

The Wise Woman
Builds Her House How do you want to ‘build your house‘ today? I read this as part of my study on being a keeper of the home. I immediately thought of my Mammaw Aleshire. My mammaw was a woman who put her family first. She raised 9 children, had 25 grandchildren and was well loved in her community. She was a wise woman. The wise woman is one who builds her house. Is this referring to a physical house, an abode, a place of dwelling? Possibly. “The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” Proverbs 14:1* As women we have been given the task of…

Praying for Pa… er Wisdom.
I’m sure you have heard it said and most likely have said it yourself in prayerful tone…”Lord, grant me patience.” But what does that mean? Are you asking the Lord to instill in you immediately the ability to be able to wait in the moment? Or perhaps you are asking Him to miraculously add to your character the ability to be long suffering. Are you really asking Him to give you calmness in the face of trial? Maybe what you really mean is…”Lord, I am just human, my self wants to be free from the struggle of this moment, but since I am in it, give me the ability to…

Finishing Up and Looking for New
I’m finishing up a few stray curricula this week. Liitle man ended Spelling yesterday. We shall finish elementary math by Friday. That’s scarey! Since we found those baby kittens I’m going ahead with the lesson on Human Growth from the Aplogia’s Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy which will end two years in that book. Don’t let that scare you, I prefer to take science slow so that Little Man can explore till his heart is content. He needs to finish up a couple of writing assignments and then we are done! Our final so long to academics 2011/2012 will be the Fun Field Day my friend Angie organizes! I’m still working…
