New Goals for the New Year
Saying goodbye to 2012 was easy for me. While I am truly thankful that God blessed me and my family with another year of life, last year was a difficult one for my family as well as for some of our closest friends and I am hoping and praying that God will lead us into a better one in 2013. My prayers include: My family living in His will on a daily basis and that we will trust His will for our lives above our own desires. If it be His will that He will lead my husband into a job that is the right one for our family, to…

30 Days to Give Thanks: Day 23
We are nearing the end of the month of November. The Thanksgiving Day is behind us. That does not mean that we should stop being thankful. That’s why my co-host and I decided to have our blog hop party for 30 days. It’s not too late to tell us what you are thankful for.Today I am thankful for Vacuum Cleaners Yes, I know that is such a small thing to be thankful for. After all vacuums have been around for well over 100 years. Today I set to deep cleaning Little Man’s bedroom. I must say it has been a very long time. My previous vacuum had not been working…

28 Days to Timeliness, a Review
Timeliness through Routine I’m not really a late person. Generally speaking in my life, I like to arrive about 10 to 15 minutes before a scheduled event. My father was an early person. I mean, very early, if he wasn’t early by 30 minutes or more to an event then he felt like he was late. I don’t want to be too early, but I do not like be late. This post contains affiliate ad links to products which may be purchased at external sites. I was thrilled to hear that my friend’s daughter, Davonne Parks, released a new e-book on October 1st. I’ve known Davonne for much of her life. I watched her…

If You Give a Girl a Vacuum: Being a Keeper
Purposing for Being a Better Keeper About 6 months ago I listened to a podcast over at Come Fill Your Cup with Erynn Sprouse featuring Erin Wells. Erin is the wife of a preacher and a home-school mom of 4 great kids. The topic for that day was… “Being a Keeper of the Home.” In this podcast they discussed the topic of the role of a wife and how God instructs us to be keepers of the home. I must say that after listening and then later taking a personal study of the passage in Titus 2, I was quite convicted to do a better job within this area of my own…

Preparing for Camp
In a whirlwind. That’s how I feel. We are preparing to leave for church camp this Saturday. Between packing for Beloved, Little Man, myself and making sure we all have bedding and toiletries which I can’t share since I’m not bunking with the guys, I also am working on a project for my family reunion the following Saturday. Did I mention that I am also teaching Bible class at church camp? That’s 10 lessons, 2 classes a day. I also have co-op duties that I’m working on and we will be having a mom’s planning meeting on Thursday. Here are a couple photo’s from last years camp. J’s Cabin Singing…

The Great Clean Up: Spring Cleaning
Spring Cleaning Has Begun So there has been quite a flurry of activity around here of late. Walls are getting scrubbed, furniture dusted, carpets vacuumed. The window sills needed a good cleaning. Yuck! Did you know that spring cleaning has it’s roots in scripture? “ Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel.” Exodus 12:15* This commandment from God was given to remove all leaven from the house of an Israelite family. Over time, the Jews behan to cleanse every part…

Seeing to the Family Needs as a Homemaker
The Service of a Titus 2 Woman A Titus 2 woman is perhaps a concept that many aren’t familiar with. For Christian women we know that it’s referring to Titus chapter 2 in the Bible. In it, we see that women are instructed to love their husbands, love their children, and to be a homemaker, and obedient to their husbands. Such a concept seems foreign in our modern day society. Yet, I’ve discovered that when I follow this biblical directive, being obedient to God, that I live a more peaceful life. “The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to…
