    Homeschool Photo Day 2015-2016

It’s amazing how much a child can change in one year! Jonathan turns 12 this year as we start our 7th grade year. There is so many things that have changed in our life and I’m amazed at the incredible young man he is growing in to. He is so tall! I wasn’t ready for him to grow almost eye to eye with me, but he’s almost there. I also wasn’t prepared for the transition to the men’s department at the store. Rant: Ok, Why is it that for girls you go from infant, to toddler clothes, to girls clothing to juniors, then women’s, while for boys you go from…

    My Breakthrough Homeschool Life Perspective

My Homeschool Life Perspective Changed Recently, my life has been going through a change. I wrote about the new normal of my family a while ago, and since that time, things have continued to change for me. With change in a mom’s life also comes change in a child’s life. This has allowed me a chance to reflect on what matters most in life. What I’ve discovered is that book learning is the least important life lesson a child can learn, the Holy Bible being the one exception to that conclusion. 3 Homeschool Life Perspective Goals Every Christian Homeschooler Should Have I remember a while ago a lady that I…

5 Homemaking Tips for Homeschool Moms

There are some things that I’ve learned over the course of our homeschooling years. I have learned how to maintain my home so that I’m not overwhelmed. Let me just say, that homemaking through the homeschooling years is quite different from other stages of my life. I’m not one of those, every last surface in my house must be spotless, kind of homemakers. We live here. More than that, we school here and my son and I are here nearly 24/7. So clutter, happens. That being said, I do prefer having a home that is clean and fairly straightened.  During my working years I had a specific routine for getting…

First Day of Homeschool 6th Grade

This is our 7th year of homeschooling, so with Kinder, Young Man’s “6th Grade” year. We don’t generally follow grade levels. However, we do for Bible class at church so when asked he answers whatever the grade level he is there.  Disclosure: There may be affiliate or sales link within this post. We started the day off with breakfast (cereal and juice for him, toast and coffee for me), then getting dressed and chores. I am so glad that a few weeks back, before I went out of town for a week and a half, that I spent a good amount of time going through our new curriculum, and writing…
