Mom 2 a Boy: Photo Fun

Little Man decided to ride to Bible Study Wednesday night like this. I guess he found humor in being headless. As a mom, I giggled with him, but as a girl, I just don’t get it…If you are on the preview page open to see the complete post. What’s your caption?

    Acceleration: What is it?

To Advance or Not to Advance? Very recently there has been a story running viral around the internet about the Harding family that has sent 6 children of their 10 children to college by age 12. You can see the story, from the Today Show News here: Meet the family who sent six kids to college by age 12 I’ve watched with fascination different people on facebook give their opinions as to whether they think this family is doing a great thing for their children or if they think they are simply nuts. I’ve watched and not commented even though every fiber of my being wanted to comment, support and…

Training up in Worship: Set the Standard

In this series on Training Up in Worship. We’ve come to some practical advice time. I’ve laid some foundations. Training begins with infancy, requires repetition and begins at home.   I know you are curious for how to go about the practical application while in the assembly. I can hear what you are thinking. ‘It’s too hard with 2, 3 or more children.’  You are right that it is hard, but it isnt’  TOO hard. After all we are told… “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13. You as the parent just have to make the decision to set the standard and stick with it.…

    Worship Training Begins at Home

Training Up in Worship: Begins at Home Maybe you are thinking, “What’s the big deal? They are just kid’s let them be.” The big deal is these babies, toddlers and children will not remain children for very long. They will soon enough grow up and begin to form their own opinion, their own choices, and they will become responsible for their own actions. They will be responsible to the Lord God of Heaven for the choices they make. Your job as a parent is to train up or prepare their hearts for these choices. If you wait until you can reason with your child, it may be too late.   We…

    Training Up My Little Prince

I love teaching the fruit of the spirit to Little Man. In our academy, home and life you might often hear me ask him, “Does that attitude reflect the fruit of the spirit?” or maybe you will hear, “Are you showing self-control?” Or any of the other attributes to the Fruit of the Spirit. This post contains a children’s book review. I received this book for free from the author, all opinions are my own and I was not instructed on what to write. This post also contains affiliate ad links where you may purchase this book.   When I learning of Author Danna J. Walters and her book “Every Good…

    Freedom to Choose

Common Core, The European Model of Education Several years ago, before I became a mother, I worked in a local jewelry store. At one point, we hired a man who was from Belgium. He was an interesting man and I enjoyed conversing with him about his European home. During the course of one conversation we discussed education. He told me about his children, who were still living in Belgium following a divorce. He was telling my how it was time for he and his ex-wife to choose his son’s education path. Not sure what he meant, I questioned him for more details. He explained that as a child was entering…

    Ten Random Thoughts

I’m having random thoughts today.   1. I was terribly sick yesterday. I slept for over 20 hours, then got up at 9:25 last evening. I stayed up for 7 hours then went back to sleep and slept for 6 1/2 hours. I guess the near month long insomnia fest of February finally caught up with me. So hopefully I have reached balance and my sleep patterns have returned to normal. This beautiful tree was the scene outside the kitchen window where I do the dishes. This tree is now gone. 🙁 2. I’m finding the loss of all the trees in the neighborhood disturbing to my heart. Today they are…

    Marriage Moment: Mama Says

I’m sorry this post is going up so late today. I haven’t been feeling well and spent most of today in bed. Now on to Marriage Moment:I recently was blessed to spend a couple of weeks at my mom and dads. They have been blessed to be married for over 56 years. While there I explained to my mom about this little weekly blog posting that I’ve been doing. (My parents do not have a computer!) I asked her what bit of advice from her experience would she give to young brides. “They need to learn to talk to their husbands.” was her reply. She went on to explain that…
